Man, this is even better than Democrats using homosexuals for the gay marriage debate. It's brilliant! Bombshell: Obama bringing KSM to NYC for trial; former Bush AG Mukasey to respond at Federalist Society this afternoon "Self-proclaimed Sept. 11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four other Guantanamo Bay detainees will be sent to New York to face trial in a civilian federal court, an Obama administration official said Friday. The official said Attorney General Eric Holder plans to announce the decision later in the morning." The racist, pro-terrorist Eric Holder/Obama Justice Department is going to bring the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks to NYC for federal trial. This means demands for discovery of classified info, for more bashing at Bush. It means arguments about whether TERRORISTS caught on FOREIGN soil should receive trials in civilian court. It means arguments for a change of venue for added delay. It means perpetuating the arguments about "torture." It means focus on the outrage of victims of 9/11. It's a giant bowl of extremist Left screeching, meaning non-Liberals will have to counter it. It's going to be a circus, giving years of fodder to the Liberal Pravda media and pundits nationwide. It's a GIANT distraction while the thugocracy in office continues to spend trillions in taxpayer dollars on growing their power base for permanent rule of the country. This also means increasing the chance of terrorist attack on NYC. Couple that with the Liberalist protection of potential terrorists throughout the administration and military recently made obvious by the massacre at Ft Hood, and the danger skyrockets. Well, since the Obamunists don't mind using soldier's lives for their political ends ("SHOUT OUT"), why not use terrorists ("TORTURE!") and innocent residents of New York City (Flyover for a photo op), too? In fact, a wave of terrorist attacks on NYC would be a heck of a crisis. And you never want to let a crisis go to waste. |

Like many folk, the snippet effect of facebook has taken many of my LJ entries and so I haven't been posting here a lot. A quick summary for those not on Facebook... Still unemployed and looking (whereas Jim is unemployed and not really looking) Kidlet is still mostly adorable (though he's fighting nap-time today, so today, notsomuch) and loving pre-school time with mommy. Got a cold the week before Faeriecon (definitely a cold and not pig-related as there was no temp). Was feeling well enough (though highly medicated) during the con and relapsed once home (where Jim had gotten my cold). Photos of FaerieCon are up on Facebook, anyone here and not there want me to post them, and I will. FaerieCon was great, though the cold made me emotionally short at times. Once I discovered the new gaming area, I was in heaven (I can only shop so much!)...but then I missed the panels I wanted to see completely. That is the way with con's though! :-) I got to meet Charles DeLint and chat with MaryAnn Harris (his SO) and took a class by Toby Froud (the baby in Labrynth) and another class with Mark Lewis (the best torystellar evar!). So lots of Squeee moments to look back on fondly. Right now, I'm pondering the massively overrun kitchen and laundry baskets and successfully ignoring both...but I can only do that for so long as we're almost out of clean bowls and underwear. So that's that... |

c/o conservacorner. Instead of throwing a million bucks at another scumbag underhanded Liberal pretending to be a Republican for her scumbag underhanded union organizer husband, the GOP should put a few of these in every city. The second image in particular would be addressed if the "mainstream" media had any integrity. click for full size
Wow. Look at all these Republican special interests. Look at all those elephants among the top contributors. Hey! Don't a lot of those in the top 20 stand to gain from "universal health care?" Hm... What's that one at number 6, fully 64 slots above the EvilBigOil Exxon, one of those EvilBigOil companies who supposedly own the Republican Party? Oh! It's the American Assn for Justice, formerly the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, because Liberals don't change their ways, they just change their name. Wow. That's a lot of money to Dems. The Democrat health care push has nothing to do with efficient health care, or about helping anyone but themselves. It is about POWER. It is about money and power for the Democrat Party, taking over permanent control of 1/6th of the economy while allowing them an excuse to justify regulating every aspect of every American's life. America is being sold snake oil so Democrats can permanently "rule". (Click the link. Carville openly admits that's their goal.) Do we really want to be "ruled?" I thought we fought a revolution to end that. |

I'm experiencing a computer weirdness. I'm trying to upload files to a development site, and it keeps overwriting my files with blanks. For example, I'm trying to upload a file called menu.tpl. It is a 3290 byte file. When I transfer it, the filename appears on the development server list, but the size says "0 bytes". And of course the file doesn't work (so neither do my menus). The problem is that the new file with 0 bytes is overwriting the old file which at least worked. Downloads work fine. It's only uploads. One FTP client software I use acts as if everything is fine and the transfer was successful. The other software says "No such file" and then tries to reupload the new file (with 3290 bytes) every few minutes, failing each time. But it still overwrites the old file with the new one containing 0 bytes. I've rebooted. I've tried using a different FTP client. Same same. Any ideas? Update: When I try to upload, I get this error: Response: 150 Opening BINARY mode data connection for logogreylong.gif Response: 552 Transfer aborted. Disc quota exceeded |

Recently I've finished my biggest sewing project so far, and I wanted to share the dress diary with you. Please bear with me as this is the first time I've ever done a dress diary on a community! All pictures can be clicked to view my gallery at Flickr ... but keep in mind that since the project is done, this can contain spoilers. The entire dress diary has already been posted on my personal journal, but I'm posting it here as well for your viewing pleasure. I've read the community guidelines, so I hope I'm doing everything right for my first post, but please tell me if I inadvertently broke the rules after all. ( Onto the dress diary! ) Next time: Adaptations to the pattern, and the second mock-up! Crossposted to janestarz. |

This has not been my week for posting, because I am distracted. We're off on a cruise to Bermuda on Saturday, and I am excited. It's my 40th birthday present - my birthday isn't until December, but this is the last month the cruises run, so we're going. Two days (well, one and two-thirds days) in Bermuda, two days at sea, and all the buffet we can eat. One of my other choices was Vegas, but I thought cruise + gambling + food + sightseeing seemed even more awesome. Plus Karaoke. I always try to get Bob to do his (extremely awesome) Elvis impression, because it drives the women wild, and is highly entertaining. I suck at Karaoke, but I'm liable to get up and do it anyway, because it's not about being perfect, it's about causing extreme aural pain to everyone who has to listen because they're waiting for their turn having fun. *excited* |

Item 1, let me give you a hypothetical. Someone is raised Christian but not devout, grows up a Liberal and becomes a Planned Parenthood employee. After a decade of working at PP they convert to evangelical Christianity and decide abortion is murder. They begin preaching at work about how abortion is murder. One day they walk into the center and shoot dead 13 innocent people and wound 20 others, all while screaming, "In the name of Christ." Would the Left make the connection between the act and the religion? Or would they make every effort to distract from it? Would they be reluctant to call it an act of terrorism? Twisted hypocrisy. There is no excuse for it. ___ Item 2, enlightenment brought to me, and now you c/o writerspleasure (other great stuff at that link as well) Flashback a few years. Then President Bush puts a ban on federal funding of fetal stem cell research. Liberals screeched from the rooftops that Bush hates science because he is "banning stem cell research." Proponents of the truth pointed out private companies were still able to perform whatever studies they wish. This goes all unheard or ignored, and Bush remains branded for years, even reported by the Pravda media as "banning stem cell research." Flash to the present. An amendment is added to the travesty that is the misnamed health care bill banning "federal funding for abortions." Now the Liberals are screeching from the rooftops that the bill "bans abortions." Twisted logic. This leads writerspleasure to the very true observation: So the federal government will control all? No one could afford them privately? this is akin to bush not funding stem cells with federal money becoming turned into a "ban on stem cell research" with implied totality. [and if they are predicting future consequences, then they cannot deny our concern over future consequences, like death panel effects or medicare/social security deficit bombs as "mere speculation"? ] |

H/T Glenn Beck for outing what I hadn't heard before. NY voters asked to consider [...] inmate work"The constitutional amendment would authorize the Legislature to pass bills to let state and local inmates work for nonprofit organizations operated for religious, charitable or educational purposes. The state Department of Correctional Services supports the ballot measure, spokeswoman Linda Foglia said. Robert Gangi, executive director of the Correctional Association of New York, a prison watchdog group, said inmates struggling with idleness and boredom appreciate voluntary programs that get them into the community, where they might feel productive, acquire skills and make contacts." I bet they will. I wonder where the Correctional Association of New York gets it's money. Ah. Open Society Institute. Starry Night Fund of the Tides Foundation. I'm sure the rest all lead back to these two. |

EDIT@08:16 UTC/GMT. Wow. That was ugly. I expected it to go for 30 minutes and have maybe 1 minute of broken connectivity. Instead it lasted over 4 hours and we had 10 minutes of downtime directly related to the load balancer upgrades and then another 5-10 minutes of downtime when our primary Pingback database server crashed and the secondary couldn't take over; which could have been indirectly caused by the network upgrade missing a self-VIP. Anyways, we're up, we're working, the load balancers are barely breaking a sweat right now and I need some food and a shot of whiskey. I don't even *like* whiskey!! Thanks mhwest and dnewhall for helping out! --- On Saturday the 14th at 4AM UTC/GMT we will be upgrading the operating system of our network load balancers to a newer version, one that will allow us to use both CPUs! Nifty, because multiprocessing is nice. Since we have 2 load balancers, the plan is to upgrade 1 at a time, and there really should be very little impact to our website. Hopefully you won't notice a thing and I'll get to go back to the hotel and watch some wonderful late night infomercials. We've got a lot of exciting projects coming up for 2010 and we're hoping that we'll be able to deliver them all to you, that you will find it useful/cool/lovely and then you will use the site even more. Behind-the-scenes work like this will give us the capacity to handle the anticipated traffic, so expect a few more maintenance windows especially in the beginning of next year as we've got some neat ideas to improve performance around here! We had the recent 30-45 minute outage yesterday due to one of our logging databases filling up disk space -- not so great design coupled with my human error in handling the initial problem -- and it looks like we're going to finally have some resources to eliminate stuff like that. I can't wait! As usual, I will be updating status.livejournal.org before and after, just in case you are not able to reach our main website during the work. |

Click pic for full size. The left cartoon is the truth. The right is what the Liberal Pravda media reports. I'm pretty good with numbers, but not with statistics. Forgive me if I'm missing something. Also, I grabbed this data pretty quickly. If anyone would prefer to pick a different recent year, or add reliable information or input not derived from some delusional Liberal spin machine, do feel free. FBI hate crime statistic 2007.

Ten times as many Jews were victims of hate crimes. (Yet they don't seem all that inclined to mass murder.) The numbers for anti-Christian attacks are different than those for anti-Muslim by about a whopping 4%. More than six times as many whites were targets for being white (the supposedly privileged, innately racist, and probably evil majority) than Muslims for being Muslim. Yes, I'm aware there are more Jews, Christians and whites than Muslims in America, and so therefore the percentage of population per group is larger. It doesn't really change the point. The fact remains, hate crimes against Muslims are likely far more a manufactured bogeyman of Liberal propaganda than a real problem in this country. And it wouldn't be an excuse anyway. Meanwhile, harm to or bigotry against whites, Christians and Jews doesn't count from the point of view of Liberals. Political correctness, the tool of the Left, enabled the murders at Fort Hood. Liberals need to wake up. |

If you live in the United States everything you have every done, everything you will ever do, is possible due to the efforts and sacrifice of the men and women throughout history who have put on the uniform to defend this country and her interests. If you live outside of the United States and can read this odds are everything you have ever done or ever will do is made possible due to the efforts and sacrifice of the men and women throughout history who have put on the uniform of the United States. You may not approve of particular actions of our armed forces currently or in the past. It doesn't matter. Those who stand that wall should be honored. |

Dear J.A. Muhammad, I am a fan of vengeance. I am a fan of justice. In this case it's both. Although the idea of you rotting in a cell for the rest of your life is appealing, if it's not at hard labor as it should be but for our feminized society I'd just as soon you die. I hope it hurt like Hell. If there is one, I hope you burn in Hell. |

Melody has just stolen the second of two squeaky toys that Preston was playing with. Ah! Wait. Now Preston has gullumphed over and stolen the second toy back. Melody just barked at him, and now I think she has the toy. Nope. Preston has it again. He's shaking the hell out of it. Melody is patiently watching him, waiting for an in. Greyhounds never play together you know... Hee! Melody went for a drink of water and Preston stole back the first toy too. Tee hee hee! |

Nidal Hasan’s calling card explainedThe info in that link is troubling, but I want to focus on this for a moment. "Meet the Press interview with Army chief of staff General George Casey"... "'As horrific as this tragedy was, if our diversity becomes a casualty, I think that’s worse.’"What? What?!? WTF?!? If diversity becomes a casualty it is worse than the mass murder of our soldiers on our own soil in a terrorist attack committed by one of our own?!? Maybe context helps this statement, but as far as I'm concerned that man has no business continuing to serve in the US military regardless of his accomplishments. The enslavement to the meaningless ideal of diversity allowed an enemy within to wander unfettered, in fact protected(!), leading to a slaughter of defenseless soldiers on our own soil. His main concern is that he hopes it doesn't harm their sense of diversity? That's someone who appears to worship at the deranged altar of political correctness. He is essentially guilty of being an accessory to any future similar attack. Think of the potential impact of his sentiment. He's just told military personnel all up the line, anyone who might have seen this and thought to come forward with suspicions about Muslim or Arab military personnel, that they are officially more buggered than ever before should they raise any concerns. To me it borders on treason. At the very least it should prompt his immediate retirement. But not in Liberal America. Here national suicide and self-loathing are the goals. The cancer of the past century has worked its way all throughout the body of this republic. Please leave. |

Bush or Obama: The Quiz1. President Bush was famous for lacking "intellectual curiosity," while President Obama has been called "the smartest guy ever to become President." Who reads more books: Bush or Obama? 2. Bush was often considered to be in the grip of Big Oil. In contrast, Obama is a Harvard-educated lawyer. Which industry contributed more than five times as much as the other to politicians: the oil & gas industry, or lawyers/law firms? 3. Bush's Christian faith was at the core of his political identity, and he was considered to be in the grip of the "religious right," while Obama is considered more open-minded. In fact, Obama has said, "my faith is one that admits some doubt." Which one refers to Jesus more in public speeches? 4. Bush was criticized for excessive federal spending and running up huge deficits. Bush's deficit in 2008 was the largest in history. In fact, President Obama said, It's a little hard for me to take criticism from folks about this recovery package after they've presided over a doubling of the national debt ... What I won't do is return to the failed theories of the last eight years that got us into this fix in the first place. Whose deficit was more than triple the size of the other's: Bush's in 2008 or Obama's in 2009? 5. While Obama criticized Bush for "a doubling of the national debt," the federal debt held by the public went from 35.1% of GDP in 2000 to 40.8% of GDP in 2008 -- an increase of 16% as of fraction of GDP. What is it expected to be in 2016 under Obama's budget plan? 6. Obama criticized Bush for Guantanamo, military tribunals, wiretaps, troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, and "signing statements." Which one of these Bush practices has Obama ended? AnswersAs I continue to ask, are they delusional or liars, because those appear to be the options. And if it's the latter, why would anyone be foolish enough to believe in the ideology about which they must lie? |

What a true American leader sounds like. Obama's Wall"Twenty years ago today, an architectural monument to human enslavement melted before the eyes of the world: the Wall, the horrific complex of barbed wire, mine fields, police dogs, killing zones, and constant military guards was torn down by East Germans who finally saw a chance for liberty." "Geographically and psychologically, Communism all came together in East Germany. If the Warsaw Pact nations had invaded the democracies of Western Europe, the attack would have come through the Fulda Gap in Germany." "When the inmates of East Germany tearfully tore down the Wall in 1989, only those who relished human misery could fail to grasp that the sooner Communism ended everywhere, the better for humanity. Yet today the orphans of Orwell's nightmares still lurk in the halls of colleges, the sanctuaries of hate-spewing churches, and the offices of foundations and government.""The moral argument for defending Communism, if it ever existed, died long ago. But the left's addiction to Communism [...] defies any explanation except a willing infatuation with evil. Moore made his film and Jones made his commitment to Communism after the Berlin Wall fell and after the Soviet Union imploded. This ghastly practical experiment in human enslavement and thought-control is almost a century old. The theory behind it has been debunked just as surely as Nazi racial theories, once within a fashionable milieu of Social Darwinism, have been rightly tarred with not just error but fathomless hellishness. The Wall is much more than bricks, mortar, land mines, and attack dogs. The left will not surrender Marx, not even two decades after the slaves of East Germany ripped apart the walls of their prison. The Wall is a mental and moral construction within the psyche of those who worship the sin of envy. The Wall allows those to believe a theory justifying this sin no matter how often experiments prove the theory wholly, utterly, and absolutely false.
The Berlin Wall fell twenty years ago, thank God, but the other Wall has survived the fall of the one in Berlin. This surviving Wall proclaims that freedom is an illusion ('Freedom is Slavery,' as Orwell says), honesty is worthless, and individual justice is meaningless. This other Wall keeps Obama from doing anything good, but it does more than that: it keeps Obama from wanting to do anything we consider good.
The Zombies of Marx march on deeper into the night." |
